Rescue Mission of Utica names community food pantry

Rescue Mission of Utica, has announced its community food pantry will be named the Dr. Alap A. Butala Food Pantry.

Drs. Atul and Amita Butala made a gift of $50,000 to the rescue mission in memory of their son, Alap Butala, who died Jan. 24, 2019.

After graduating from New Hartford Central Schools in 2002, Alap A. Butala, MD, attended New York University, went on to earn his medical degree at Tufts University, and subsequently trained at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
