What is Walk a Mile in My Shoes?

A one mile walk in the snow, rain or shine to help raise awareness on homelessness and hunger.

Why Walk a Mile in My Shoes?

The Utica area is fortunate to be able to provide adults and children with basic everyday needs, however, as homelessness increases; the Rescue Mission faces the challenge of having the necessary resources to keep up with the demand. In 2018, the Rescue Mission’s Emergency Shelter expanded from 28 to 59 beds. In 2018, the shelter provided 17,980 shelter nights of care, where the average length of stay per person was 14 days.  More and more people are experiencing homelessness in the Mohawk Valley and you can help!

For just one day, let’s walk a mile in their shoes…

Saturday, February 4 – Registration begins at 10:00 am at City Hall/Hanna Park.

Walk begins outside City Hall at 11:00 am.

Individual Walker – $25
Team (Business/Church/School/Other) – $15 PP for groups of 10 or more

*Top fund raiser awards given to the two top teams.  T-shirts will be available for purchase at the event.

We encourage you to involve your family, friends and co-workers by asking them to sign up to walk with you or make a contribution to your efforts through a pledge. For every $25 raised above the registration fee, your name will entered in a drawing to win a gift card!
