The Rescue Mission of Utica joined Feed the Children and Price Rite Marketplace on Thursday, October 15 for a Resource Rally outside the Mission’s West Street Apartments, providing food and essentials to nearly 400 local families.
Each family received a 25-pound box of food, a 15-pound box of personal care items, a case of water, a Price Rite gift card, a backpack filled with school supplies, and Squishmallows for the kids.
Price Rite volunteers traveled from across New York State and beyond to help distribute the packages. Elected officials in attendance included Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr., Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, and a representative for Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon.
The Rome Daily Sentinel covered the event as part of its “Making a Difference” series — The Mission thanks reporter Alexis Manore and the Sentinel for shining a light on the community coming together.
