UTICA, NY (WKTV) – The Rescue Missions of both Utica and Rome served up Easter dinner to-go.The missions collected donations all week long. Meals were given out at Rome Mall Apartments, Liberty Gardens, Valentine Apartments, Madison Plaza, Georgian Arms, Park Drive Manor and Colonial Apartments. Meals were also given out in Utica at the Rescue Mission located at 201 Rutger Street.
Despite Easter dinner being a pick-up online event, Director of Communications at the Rescue Mission of Utica Susan Woods said it’s a tradition many in the community are thankful for.
“There’s so many people who are hungry in our community who go to bed without a full meal, and we are here to do that,” Woods said. “For 130 years we’ve been here to support and provide the needs for our community, and we’re glad to do so today.”
Both missions continue to serve food and offer food and shelter on a daily basis.
