The Rescue Mission of Utica held a suit drive on Thursday to help those in the area searching for professional attire.
UTICA, N.Y. – The Rescue Mission of Utica held a suit drive on Thursday to help those in the area searching for professional attire.
Men’s Warehouse collected hundreds of suits and other items of clothing like dress shirts, shoes and ties for the drive. Those who attended could pick out a free suit, and some matching pieces.
“It’s exciting, and they’re getting a lot more than suits in there. We’re giving people a suit voucher plus ten items. So, they can come in here and they can get a suit. Hopefully they can find a pair of shoes, a tie to go with the suit, a dress shirt, and more. A coat maybe. Hats. Gloves. – Tara David, community services coordinator at the rescue mission,” said Tara David, community services coordinator at the Rescue Mission.
Anyone looking to donate gently used suits, or other clothing items, can drop them off at the Rescue Mission, 293 Genesee St., Utica, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
