Staff at Coldwell Banker Faith Properties delivered 1,000 pounds worth of turkeys to the Rescue Mission of Utica ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.

UTICA, N.Y. – Staff at Coldwell Banker Faith Properties delivered 1,000 pounds worth of turkeys to the Rescue Mission of Utica ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.

The 400 turkeys were purchased from Smith Packing in Utica, and donated to the Mission on Monday, Nov. 23.

“This has been a very tough year for many people. A thousand pounds of turkey is going to go a long way to families and individuals really happy this Thanksgiving,” said Ernie Talerico, director of operations at the Mission.

Owner of Coldwell Banker Faith, John Brown, organized the turkey donation to help the Mission serve those in need.

“All of our not-for-profits are suffering tremendously so if we don’t step up as a local community, no one will,” said Brown.

The Mission will hand out turkeys and other Thanksgiving food items through Thursday this week.
